Love and a .45

A good road movie

I have watched this film quite a few times now and always enjoy it. There are some moments when I begin to lose interest but for the most part it keeps me interested and entertained. Gil Bellows and Renee Zellwegger have great chemistry and play off the rest of the cast equally as well. Rory Cochrane turns in a brilliant performance as Billy Mack, a guy who is having a really bad day and is on a hell of a lot of drugs. His continued nervous energy is something to behold. The highlight for me however (as usual!) was Jeffrey Combs as Dinosaur Bob. Along with Creepy Cody, these two characters provide the comic relief of the movie while still having some serious moments of their own. It's nice to see Combs in a different role than he is usually given and he absolutely revels in it.

The film itself doesn't really break any bounderies and isn't hugely original but it is well-made and well written, although at times the dialogue may seem a little to philisophical and complex. The soundtrack is catchy and the direction is more than adequate. Overall, it is a good movie, clearly inspired by the likes of Tarantino and works well in the 90 minute running time.
