Enchanted

Enchanted until the last ten minutes

I had seen the preview of this movie like five times, and it made me very interested on seeing it myself. Now I have, I can say it was a pleasant surprise. Never did liked musicals, singing nor dancing but seeing Amy Adams do it, I guess she made me think twice. She was like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella combined into one character. I'm definitely spellbinded after hearing her sing, she was genuine and true. And there is this sort of innocence and purity in her that made me believed she really came out of a storybook. To me this was really the key in making her performance work. And James Marsden's character, certainly a delight to watch. Made me laugh when he calls everybody peasants, and his character’s stupidity was unexpected but very well delivered. And yes what is a good story without the antagonist, and who better to play it than the timeless Susan Sarandon. Like they say, evil doesn’t look this good. I liked everything about this movie except the last ten minutes. Really disappointed me and to my opinion made everything crash and burn (sigh). But I guess everyone who will see this would probably sit down the full two hours. My recommendation to everyone is to watch it one time, and then wait a few years or so before seeing it again, you’ll probably like it by then.
