Worthy of the Oscar nomination for sure - this is a moving portrait of a couple who may have dissimilar views on religion, but fall madly in love only to face a devastating loss when their daughter is diagnosed with cancer. The bluegrass music throughout suits the film quite well the leads (Johan Heldenbergh and Veerle Baetens) are exceptional. The film jumps between the past and present - and takes you on a tour of their entire relationship, the ups and the downs - it can be a bit jarring at times, but this is a film where the characters elevate the dramatic material and it works.
