I just watched this film about a seventeen-year-old girl on trial for stabbing her friend’s boyfriend, and it was a lot more gripping than I expected. What starts out looking like a clear-cut murder case quickly becomes complicated once the jurors are locked in a room and one person raises doubts.
Most of the story happens in that jury room, but the tension stays high as the group argues, questions the evidence, and confronts their own biases. Robbie Moffat’s writing and direction keep it sharp and focused, and the film makes you think about how easily we judge others.
Produced by Robbie Moffat and Rachael Sutherland, it’s a simple, powerful movie that leaves you wondering what you would decide.
