Quirky Renaissance Fun

Rennie is a heartfelt, hilarious, and surprisingly profound dive into the quirky world of Renaissance Faire life. What starts as a playful peek into corsets, codpieces, and mead-fueled mayhem quickly unfolds into a raw exploration of identity, connection, and the human need to belong.
The film doesn’t shy away from the absurd—from sweaty furs to an awkward lute-off—but its real magic lies in the vulnerability of its characters. These aren’t caricatures; they’re people finding freedom and family in a world built on make-believe. Ironically, by pretending to be knights and tavern wenches, they’re able to drop their real-world masks.
It’s funny, touching, and weirdly inspiring. Rennie is a love letter to chosen families, self-expression, and the beautifully bizarre spaces where we finally feel at home.
