The Block Island Sound is a fishing-based horror movie that doesn't involve sharks or piranhas or giant squid. The fish aren't even the source of the horror. Rather, the horror comes in the form of a menacing unidentifiable growl and a creepy, sweaty, older guy who croaks things like "DEER!" My favorite part of the movie, besides deer dude, is the conspiracy-obsessed friend. My one criticism is that the movie explains itself far too readily; it's as if the filmmakers didn't want viewers to be left scratching their heads, so they basically have two of the characters explain what's going on. Still, it's a really good movie. And it's certainly different.
