Give "Superman IV" some credit. It honestly attempts to restore the spirit of the original that was long gone by "Superman III." But "The Quest for Peace" is a bland blockbuster combined with a hollow commentary on the responsibilities of journalism and living in the nuclear age. Not a bad idea. Just hurt by the noticeably smaller budget than previous films and obviously diminished enthusiasm from the cast.
