The Dead (1987)

Through its dialogue and cast of supporting players, "The Dead" sketches a finely detailed illustration of the social, political, and religious landscapes of Ireland during the years in which it's set. But it doesn't end there. Within its final 15 or so minutes, a romantic tale of regretful longing opens like a flower in the daytime to bring this well-dressed and beautifully filmed period piece to a meaningful close. How fitting THIS would be the final feature from legendary director John Huston.
