Joaquin Phoenix is one of the top three best live-action Jokers ever, surpassed by only Ledger and maybe Nicholson. This grim and inimical origin film draws inspiration from "Taxi Driver" and "The King of Comedy" and turns one of comic books' most iconic villains into a tragic antihero.
