Pride and Glory

Prejudiced Against Pride

One of the very worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Edward Norton is a great actor, but he has hit rock bottom by choosing to be in this film. The plot points were explained poorly if they were explained at all. It was extremely over the top and one scene involved a baby subjected to great trauma. This writer and or director didn't know how to craft a story and wasted some talent. Noah Emmerich's character was perhaps the best and he acted in it well.

However, the more I think about the movie, the more it pains me.

The director, in his worst move ever fired Samantha Morton because she was "difficult" to deal with. Samantha Morton is only going to be bald once, you know. This movie was made at least two years ago, if not three and was shelved then pushed back for quite awhile. Sam was replaced by Jennifer Ehle. Not only did the writer not provide insight into her character, but she did not act her part very well.

Samantha Morton should thank her lucky stars that she got out of this sinking ship. However, I'm sure she could have salvaged the role of the wife quite well.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Don't see this movie unless you like pain for some reason.

(Note: IMDB recently changed its info to say that it will now be released in 2009. This makes it the millionth time it was pushed back. I was expecting this to be the worst film in 2007, as I saw it in late 2006. At least the studio realizes that there are huge problems with this movie.)
