My favorite Bette Davis performance, and she won her first Academy Award for this role. I have no idea why I'm so drawn to this movie. Maybe it's because some people think everything is based on luck but as Don (Franchot Tone) tells Joyce (Bette Davis), no one but her is ruining her life and life is what you make it.
BTW I didn't like the first Bette Davis movie I saw (Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte) and decided to give her one more chance. I'm glad I did, because now she is my favorite actress.
