An interesting attempt at creating interesting worldS plural. Basically it was very interesting and had colorful characters in a variety of situations. Overall to me it seemed forced. But I was glad to get the recommendation nonetheless, for something different.
However, a better movie going for the same feel would probably be The Happiness of the Katakuris. At least I liked that one better.

You have to admit, as far as costume & set design it is well-detailed pop-magic! I can't help but love the silliness in each story - Bird-Dad!? Come on sister, that is creatively adorable! (although I DO have a strange fondness for people in art/characters with animal qualities...rabbit ears, antlers, etc...so what do I know)
I haven't seen Happiness of the Katakuris though, I'll make that my homework. I must say I more than respect your taste.
