The Oscar (1966)

As a serious drama, The Oscar is a misfire. But as a campy melodrama, it's quite fun to watch. Stephen Boyd (Ben-Hur) is in full-on louse mode as a selfish actor who alienates everybody around him. It's also a bit of a time capsule to see how much veneration there was for the Academy Awards back in 1966. Comparing that with how little sway the cerenomy seems to have today is interesting. Overwrought as hell but still amusing.
