The last of the 4 movies I wanted to see from 2011, the other 3 I had previously viewed. Good, but not great. I know a lot has been written about Ryan Gosling as the next "it" actor, and he probably is. He's very good, but he just doesn't quite have that screen presence that a Clooney or a Cruise does, I'm sure that will come with time, though. Now about this film. What a prescient movie for the upcoming election year (and the fact that I watched it on Super Tuesday and Ohio was the state up for grabs). George Clooney literally said everything that I would've said if I was on the election trail. Almost verbatim. I'm giving this film another boring 3/4 stars, just like most of the films I've seen this year. I'll have more on the 2011 film cycle as a whole after I see Hugo, the last film on my must see list for 2011. But it was just a wierd year for film in general.
