There's so many problems with the movie it's impossible to list them all. The acting is pretty decent. Jay Baruchel turns in a believable, albeit it unoriginal, performance as the title character. Alexis Bledel is crap, as per usual, but she's so effing gorgeous that you almost want to forgive her for it. However, Schuyler Fisk is really charming. She's fun to watch, very natural, fluid, and luckily far more attractive than her slightly demonic looking mother.

However. that being said. the movie, essentially, is Zach Braff does small town southern humor. Although not involved with the project, Zach Braff and his new quirky love drama style have clearly left their mark on the shaky and awkward script.Tthe characters' history is injected into the story through a serious of abrupt and flat lines that halt the flow of the movie dead in its tracks. The love triangle between Baruchel, Bledel, and Fisk is somehow both trite and unbelievable. Quite a feat, actually. Director Zachary Adler has created a 90 minute oxymoron.

While the movie stumbles and shakes in many places, it's still an entertaining piece of cinema. A great supporting cast and decent soundtrack keep the movie from losing all its charm. It's cute, at some points almost sickeningly sweet, and draws you in. The biggest problem with I'm Reed Fish is how information is revealed. While the script does a decent job setting up all the questions and mysteries about the characters' lives and pasts, the revelation of tantalizing information is awkward and anti-climatic.
