Cute, sassy, funny and endearing!

Sandra Bullock stars as a rough tom-boyish Gracie Hart, an FBI agent assigned to go undercover at a beauty pageant to uncover a suspected bomb plot. To coach her along the way, the Feds enlist the help of pageant veteran Victor Melling (Michael Caine) who is given the role of transforming the doughnut scoffing Gracie into a genuine Miss America competitor. Along the way she discovers her feminine side, realizes that beauty pageant participants should not ridiculed, and accepts that they have brains as well as beauty. Benjamin Bratt plays Bullock's fellow agent who is a cocky, overconfident ladies man. This movie is funny from beginning to end and pokes fun at the beauty pageant scene very effectively and it is enchanting to watch how Gracie turns into a beautiful swan. Caine excels in his role and undoubtedly has the best lines in the film and Candice Bergen is deliciously bitchy as the pageant promoter.
