I must say I was expecting an extremely boring movie, but as soon as I started watching it I started liking it although this movie has some melancholic parts that I’m not really a fan of.

The movie focus on a very interesting and sensitive subject: the women place in our society back in the 50's. If this movie was played back then it would be scandalous or maybe censored. But even today it teaches a lot of women some very important lesson like self-respect, sacrifice and the birth-given right to have a place in the world and in the society they're placed in. The romance obviously had to have a place in this movie and the art theme gave the movie a bit more of class and diversity.

I thought the cast was very carefully chosen. The main parts were played by very good actresses that I've seen in other movies playing their parts as well as they played in "Mona Lisa Smile". The performance of Kirsten Dunst was amazing as usual and unlike some other characters I’ve seen her playing she’s very female has “lady behavior”.
The characters were well developed; there were all kinds of stories and different characters that made a boring movie very easy to watch and enjoyable.

I can’t really say the ending was any surprising or unpredictable but it wasn’t disappointing either. Most of the characters lived happily ever after, one way or another but the most important thing about it is the lessons taught that might take a while to get off your mind.
In my overall opinion, the movie is worth watching for the ideological matters approached and for whoever likes a bit of romance and drama.
