There is a thin line between horror and gross, and this movie was very close to that line during most of the time. I always love to watch the "baby/pregnant woman factor" in a horror movie and this one was no exception. There was a very dark environment and the presence of "death" always around that kept me "inside" the movie during the whole time, reminding me of Dark Water or Dark City. These movies aren't scary most of the time but that darkness keeps me constantly waiting for something new to happen at any time, and it never runs out of surprises.
Maybe what I didn’t like as much about “Grace” was the often disgusting moments that pop up once in a while. It’s not exactly a good movie to watch with a full stomach but it’s not as gross as the Saw Saga, although I like Saw as well.

There’s not a lot of action, the whole movie has a very linear storyline with some flashes of action, especially in the final part, but it’s far from boring though. This is a new style of horror movies, without the classic woods, old ugly ladies, knives, chainsaws or lots of screaming; instead it focuses in somehow turning “unscary“ things into our worst nightmares. Horror movies are getting further and further away from the concept that slashing is the only way to get fear out of the viewers.

I liked the cast choosing, I didn’t know any of the actors but I liked their performance. The leading actress wasn’t too beautiful, or too sexy which sometimes might distract the viewer from the real action. The characters were well developed, well connected with each other and they all played an important part in the movie.

The movie set wasn’t very wide; instead most of the movie is played inside the main characters’ house that was scarily tidy and again the darkness in the background the whole time.

I wasn’t particularly in love with the way it ended but it could have been worse and it left some room for the imagination to work and travel. It’s one of those endings that gives the viewer the idea that the story goes on and on after the final credits.

Definitely worth watching this piece of art, especially better during the night and although it might be a bit gross some of the times, it’s one of the best horror movies I’ve seen.
