I think that most people would consider Will Ferrell the funniest actor in Hollywood. He has had several hits and a few misses. When I first saw the previews for Semi-Pro I felt that it was an exact rip off of Blades of Glory. BOG is not a good movie, but I still had hope.
I was actually quite surprised (though my wife thought it was dumb). There were several really funny scenes but then there were also the standard feel good fake worthless scenes. Ferrell had some funny moments, but to be honest, the rest of the cast was not funny. The comedy scenes kept coming and the pacing was done well.
I would have liked to have scene less dumb scenes and more intelligent comedy, but maybe that will be included in his next movie "Step Brothers," which I saw a preview for.
All in all, better than Blades of Glory, but not as good as Ricky Bobby (nor Anchor Man for lasting impression).
