The plot becomes lost in its fantastical visuals, but despite all its problems (and underperformance at the box office,) "Valerian" could likely earn a cult following similar to that of David Lynch's "Dune."

It's one of the most beautifully filmed science fiction movies I've ever seen and probably ever made. Too bad it's often nonsensical and doesn't seem content to tell just one single story. Fifth Element this ain't. Still, it does have a tremendous sense of fun with its stupidity.
