The movie actually has a progressive message about acceptance towards trans people (in 1953 no less!). But the filmmaking and storytelling is still laughably awful and sloppy. Bela Lugosi is literally acting in a different movie as a supposed mad scientist. He constantly looms superimposed over crowds of extras while spouting nonsensical dialogue. Like the other Ed Wood movies I've seen, it is very talky but it sounds like a dumb person trying to appear intelligent.

Where plan 9 is enjoyable bad this one is just bad. It is just strange scenes after strange scenes are put together in no particular order. Poorly done in every way possible and not worth watching really. Plan 9 is funt to watch this one is not.

Ed Wood make this film look interesting, but it is REALLY bad.
