Anatomy of a Murder

Great trial film

A great trial film with a great performance by Jimmy Stewart. I liked it because it does not tell you what happens and you know exactly how much the Stewart knows. The trail is interesting because it shows that showmanship has a lot to do with the success of a case. It shows that very effectively and I liked that there was not some big reveal really but everything was done just right.

Oscar Nomination Best Actor James Stewart 5- Stewart is great as he just about always is as the defense attorney. He plays every scene perfectly as the court room controlling lawyer. He is completely believable in every scene and sells the pretty poor defense brilliantly that really requires a great actor to sell. He is one of the best attorney portrayals in this and one of the few where they are not beaten down.

Oscar Nomination Best Supporting Actor George C. Scott 4/5- George C. Scott is very good as one of the two prosecutors. He plays it well even though he does not have too much to do. He gives a standard good George C. Scott performance.

Oscar Nomination Best Supporting Actor Arthur O'Connell 3/5- He really does not do anything in this. He is okay but nothing special. He is not entertaining nor does he hold your attention he just does what he needs to which is not that much.
