Having been a fan of Garth Ennis graphic novel series, Crossed, I knew where Rob Jabbaz was going with The Sadness - but even I, a gore-horror film veteran, was surprised by how far the film went. This is not a film for those who are squeamish or easily offended as the entire premise is a virus that essentially let's your Id run rampant - that is violence and sex - and Jabbaz isn't afraid to show the results. Let's just say eye-gouging, bodily fluids and a blood-soaked orgy are just the tip of the iceberg. And that ending was just brutal. I don't know if I can say I ENJOYED watching the film - but I was certainly enthralled.
