"Hunger" is one of the most unrelenting prison movies ever. While it gets a little too contemplative near the end, its beginning and middle make for a tense watch with the tensions between IRA prisoners (comitingly played by Michael Fassbender and others) and the guards within the confined setting acting as a compelling stand-in for the real-life Troubles.
