As a fan of Duncan Jones' earlier films -- Moon and Source Code -- I marginally enjoyed Mute for its interesting setting and creepily entertaining pair of antagonists. Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux are the standouts here, while Alexander Skarsgard's main character is no more interesting than a pile of bricks.
Mute is a mess, but it's a mess with flashes of greatness.
