Wayne's World 2

Good sequel

It's one-year later and the popular late-night cable access duo "Wayne" (Mike Myers) and "Garth" (Dana Carvey) have finally moved out of their parents' homes. "Casandra" (Tia Carrere), the beautiful Cantonese singer who began a relationship with "Wayne" in the first is on her way to stardom with the help of record producer "Bobby" (Christopher Walken), who goes as far as getting "Casandra" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

"Wayne" and Casandra are having problems in their relationship, thanks to "Wayne's" jealousy over "Bobby", who would like to know the singer in the biblical sense. "Garth" is also having women problems when he meets "Helen Hornee" (Kim Basinger) at the laundromat. The seductive older woman seduces the man who has never known the ways of a woman, and after a night of passion, he learns that she wants him to kill her husband. She then gives him a handgun, which he quickly gets rid of as soon as he leaves her house.

In his sleep, "Wayne" is visited by rock music icon "Jim Morison" (Michael Nickles) who tells him he must put on a rock concert. Also, he has to go to England to enlist the help of who is considered to be the greatest roadie of them all (Ralph Brown), who has obviously partied a little too much.

A lot of the jokes from the original movie are replayed in this movie. And many of those, and new jokes, are now dated but still manage to cause a laugh. The cast has great comedic timing and work well with each other. Also, the new characters blend quite well into the lunacy of the world of the fictionalized Aurora, Illinois.

The visuals are not all that spectacular, but there are many visual jokes that are enjoyable. There are also a lot of scenes that parody many movies that were around up to that point.

Overall, Wayne's World 2 is a wonderful follow-up to an original comedy.
