Beautiful

'It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.'

So begins one of my favorite books of all time, and to date I have not seen a better film or television adaptation of it than this mini-series. The role of Mr Darcy is what made Colin Firth a household name, but it was Jennifer Ehle's portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet is what ultimately made me fall in love with this series. She played Lizzie with the lively good humour that the character is known for. Their chemistry is evident from the moment Mr Darcy first looks at Elizabeth and remains constant through all six episodes.

The supporting cast is great, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful; the first shot of Pemberley alone is gorgeous. All in all it's a beautiful series and definitely a must if you're a Jane Austen fan (and if you are you've probably already seen this multiple times like I have) and worth a watch if you're in the mood for one of the greatest love stories ever told.
