Beastly

A sweet if predictable teen romance!

Beastly is a modern day fairytale of "Beauty and the Beast." Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is a high school senior who has been raised to believe that it is good looks that make people like you. He’s cute, popular and has a rich daddy. His arrogant hobby is to humiliate anyone who didn't fit in his category of normal.

When he embarrasses the wrong girl at a school rally, she turns him into a “hideous beast”. Kendra just happens to be a real witch pretending to be a high school student. To show Kyle the same level of compassion that she got from him, she curses him with a year to find someone who truly loves him for who he is or he'll be Beastly forever. His only hope for redemption is Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens) a humble, average looking girl whose quirky personality wins her the heart of Kyle.

This movie pulls at your heartstrings, makes you smile, and even has a great message of inner beauty to boot. Neil Patrick Harris steals the show as Kyle's blind tutor Will; delivering hilarious comments at just the right time while Mary-Kate Olsen shines as Kendra the witch. Nice performance from Kyle's live-in maid Zola, played by LisaGay Hamilton.
