The Social Network

Documentary of Facebook

If you don't use Facebook and have no interest in social networking, this movie will bore you. Ask my wife. If you use facebook daily, or perhaps even own your own social network, this movie will educate you. And if you have desires of someday being worth 25 Billion dollars, this movie will inspire you.

Mostly a documentary, it is a very interesting look at the early days of Facebook and its creators. Not sure how much is true or how much is exagerated, but take it for what it is worth - a movie about Facebook.

Acting was solid, story on par, and direction good. But, I must say I was disappointed in Fincher. He usually harnesses visual style. This definately lacked in this movie. Nothing cool, nothing great about it. Just standard direction. Hell, maybe that's what Hollywood wants for the nomination.

Overall good movie that has the makings of an Oscar pick. As with Facebook itself, only 20 years will tell how good this movie will really be.
