"Mission: Impossible -- Fallout": It's refreshing -- after months of Black Panthers, Avengers, Ant-Men and Deadpools -- to have a superhero that's actually human. Well, not quite -- Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt is several notches above most mortals in his ability to run like a gazelle, drive a motorcycle and a helicopter like a pro, jump across buildings in single bounds, and take beatings that would incapacitate most men -- but he is human, with all our human failings (guilt, remorse, etc). In this latest episode in the franchise -- one that stands heads above the last entries in the series -- Hunt chooses to save his friends Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt - and more death-defying stunts, in the top 2018 action movie Mission:Impossible - Fallout while on a dangerous assignment to recover stolen plutonium, allowing it to fall into the hands of a deadly network of highly skilled operatives intent on destroying civilization. With the world at risk, Ethan and his IMF team (Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson) are forced to work with a hard-hitting CIA agent (Henry Cavill) as they race against time to stop the nuclear threat. There's plenty of heart-pounding excitement and thrills (there's a spectacular motorcycle chase through the heart of Paris) until the very last second of the film. The Surround soundtrack is one of the best we've experienced in quite awhile, with helicopters flying overhead and sounds coming at you from all sides. A fun thrill ride. Also co-stars Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Michelle Monaghan and Alec Baldwin. Extras for Mission: Impossible - Fallout include a bevy of behind-the-scenes featurettes; deleted scenes montage; foot chase musical breakdown; "The Ultimate Mission"; storyboards; theatrical trailer; commentary by director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise; commentary by director Christopher McQuarrie and editor Eddie Hamilton; commentary by composer Lorne Balfe; isolated score track.
