New DVD and Blu-Ray Releases to Crave This Week: Toys, Music and Goonies

It's a good week for the family as many of the new releases coming out are great for people of all ages.

1) Leading the pack is Pixar's latest juggernaut Toy Story 3. Breaking all kinds of records during its theatrical run, and in my opinion the best out of the Toy Story bunch, this is sure to be a favorite with the family.

2) In other family news, The Goonies is also getting an updated treatment. This 25th Anniversary edition contains a boatload of extras including commentary with all the actors, outtakes (including that octopus) and reprints of classic articles about the film. Any fan of the 80s, or just fun films in general, will appreciate this upgraded version.

3) Another film is getting the updated anniversary treatment as well. The Sound of Music is celebrating 45 years of being a top musical draw. You get interactive features, including a sing-a-long version, commentaries and in-depth, behind-the-scenes featurettes.

4) While not quite a family film, The Bridge on the River Kwai is also getting the Blu-Ray treatment. Aside from the new transfer, you get a booklet, lobby cards and newly-found archival auidio footage of the premiere.

5) Finally, we finish up with the family with the live-action Disney film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In the realm of Bedknobs and Broomsticks, this is just a fun adventure that families can enjoy together.

Wrapping things up, you can celebrate the holidays early with the Blu-Ray release of White Christmas or you can celebrate decapitations with the release of Highlander and Highlander 2. You can find out about all the new releases on the FilmCrave New Movie Releases and FilmCrave New Blu-Ray Releases pages today.
