FROM THE BIG SCREEN:
Director Steven Soderbergh's straight-ahead, hip, and very funny "Logan Lucky" is kind of a mash-up of "Ocean's Eleven," "The Informant!" "Magic Mike" and "Haywire," a roiling heist caper with off-beat characters, an absurd storyline, and a lot of craziness. Hoping to reverse a "curse" that’s hung over his family for generations, Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) hatches a plan to rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Coca-Cola 600, NASCAR'S biggest race of the year. He convinces his one-armed bartender brother Clyde (Adam Driver) and hairdresser sister Mellie (Riley Keough) to help him pull everything off -- but first they have to break the safecracker Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) out of jail in broad daylight. Hilary Swank plays a no-nonsense FBI agent determined to bring the Logans to justice and keep them from racing away with the loot. Logan Lucky

This special series begins nearly 10 years after the original series ended. Lorelai still runs the Dragonfly Inn (and chugs coffee like it's water) and Rory, now 32, has experienced some career success. As Rory works through job-related struggles and Lorelai deals with some unresolved issues of her own, Emily Gilmore has been handling the loss of her husband.
