A Vietnamese woman leaves her war torn village to start a life on her own, in Saigon during the Vietnam War. Tommy Lee Jones is the soldier who sweeps her off her feet. The second half of the movie is better than the first, where it becomes more of a social drama than a war movie. Not one of Stones best.
