National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Fast-Paced, Fluffy, Fun!

I couldn't remember what happened in the first film but that did not hinder me from liking this film quite a bit. I liked that even though it did not make much sense at times, it acted as though it did so it was convincing and fun at the same time. This is a fast-paced film, which is a good thing, because it managed to hide its inconsistencies. The dialogue is not as smart as it pretends to be but it's okay because there are more than a handful of adrenaline-fueled scenes to make up for it. I must give kudos to Justin Bartha for providing the comic relief. Without him, this film would've been reduced to a step-by-step, laugh-out-loud-less, adventure ride. My main problem with it that I couldn't forgive is the sympathetic villain. It would've been better if they went all-out and introduced an enemy that's pure evil. It could've provided a darker edge that it so desperately needed. Still, it's a fun movie so I'm recommending it.
