Hearts in Atlantis

A Plunge in the Unknown

Anton Yelchin is simply electric in this film. Each scene he was in, he was jaw-droppingly good to the point where one would consider him precocious. He's so good, I believe he more than held his own against the always great Anthony Hopkins. What I like about this movie is that it was never predictable. The last thirty minutes or so was a plunge in the unknown for me because the past hour was simply a story about one's childhood with little hints of greatness here and there. Kudos to the writers for providing the audiences likeable characters that one can't help but follow. Although some people think it's a bit too slow for their liking, I think the pacing is not that bad because this is the kind of movie that strives on the unfolding of events. This little gem contains one of the best acting I've seen in a while.
