Unpredictable....Originality at it's best!

If this flick is anything it's unpredictable and that's a good thing cause originality these days in ole Hollyweird is extremly rare! I had no idea whatsoever that the events that i was about to see were gonna take place. I love horror films and have seen quite a few strictly for the gore factor (Yes im sorta crazy that way i guess?) have seen some that have actually scared the bejesus out of me (Paranormal Activity is one of them) and last but not least hardly any that shocked me, unpredictability wise as this one had. 5 colleg buds head up to one of their cousin's cabin in the woods. Cabin in the Woods review

Fascinating how many people enjoyed this particular movie. This has the potential to be a cult classic in its own right. Dana (Kristen Connolly), Curt (Chris Hemsworth), Jules (Anna Hutchison), Marty (Fran Kranz), and Holden (Jesse Williams) go on a vacation in a cabin. On the downside, Some of the characters were irritating and plain boring. This reviewer felt the direction was going in different places. Humor was not that effective though the effects and gore were very believable. Performances were descent but the only thing interesting was the near conclusion, which really deviated to the plot's beginning. Call it a twist or suprise factor for audiences, it was still uneven. Cabin in the Woods is a horror flick mixed with fantasy and some disappointing deaths.

A breath of fresh air

A horror film that is clever and original is something that you seldom see in this day and age. The genre is overflowing with films that have paper-thin plots that are buried with gore, nudity and cheap scares as a way to cover up the shortcomings. With the vast majority of these films being panned by critics and moviegoers alike, it is about time that a film came around that turns today’s horror formula on its head. Thankfully, along comes The Cabin in the Woods; a horror film that makes fun of many of the horror genre cliché’s and treats us with a story that is fun and engaging. Finally, a modern horror film with a freakin' script!
