Paranormal Activity 4 review

Daniel Corleone - wrote on 04/19/2013

Nothing new in the fourth installment. The story revolves around the family of Alex (Kathryn Newton). Katie (Katie Featherston) again plays a role in the popular franchise. Lack interesting figures and appropriate character background. The pace sluggish and scary moments were few and uninteresting. The acting of Newton was not as believable as Featherston (in the 1st two from the series). If only there was more to it than the usual book throwing/chandelier falling/bed sheet removal and dragging of the feet tactics were used and seen in the previous films. Paranormal Activity 4 is better than 2, still one of the worst from the series because of its similar premise, sub par performances and recycling of methods. The fifth should offer something refreshing and look back at their …

Paranormal Activity 4: Disappointing

After watching all of this series this one was a supreme let down in relation to the others. Less scares and more talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, all by the teenage daughter. While the other movies where we the audience were viewing the occurrences through the camera, instead we mostly see the teenage daughter. Her face filling screen after screen of her talking to her boyfriend. Nothing against the actual actress and more against the screen writer. With a house less memorable than all the others previous and cat that they don't actually use to set any sort of atmosphere, this part of the series falls very short. Only part of the film that was somewhat interesting was the Kinect. A very cool little idea that could have been used to better effect. A Boring snoozefest and with a huge …

After seeing part 3 in this series, as it left us fans with a little cliffhanger, I couldnt wait to see this. If you havent seen this one yet and are anticipating a good story that answers lots of questions surrounding part 3, you will be somewhat let down as we get maybe a couple of glimpses of the witches coven storyline however that's it. This one takes place after the events of PA#2 (not 3) with the neighbors this time being the victims of the ghostly door banging and chandelier dropping apparitions.

Not much in the scare dept however i myself was more interested in finding out more of what we found out story wise in part 3. Well i have recently found out that Paranormal Activity 5 will be released by Halloween of 2013 so maybe we can get more of what's going on with Katie's …

Review: Paranormal Activity 4

I don't get it. I just do not understand why this series is so popular. Are people frightened by strange forces opening doors and moving chairs in the night time? Do people lose sleep over 15-year-old girls getting dragged around the house at 3 in the morning? Maybe staring at empty rooms for an hour and a half waiting for something to just freakin' happen already is their type of entertainment. Or maybe people just lost taste in good horror.

The good news is Paranormal Activity 4 is better than its predecessor, Paranormal Activity 3, which I dread. Paranormal Activity 4 is not a good movie at all, but I was expecting a lot worse, considering the fact that this is the fourth installment in one of the most overrated horror movie franchises out there. It's more entertaining than the …

Being a fan (not a huge one, bug a fan) of the first and especially the second, which still remains the best and scariest, it does not take a blind man to see that this series has finally lost it. The suspense squeezed out of the original style (Night 1 and so on) has now turned into complete and utter boredom. As dull as a butter knife. Yes, Directors Joost and Schulman (whose Catfish was brilliant) has some inspired ideas, like the Kinect Night-vision, or a mysteriously vanishing knife that causes a bit of tension. But none of it compares to their better executed ideas in their third entry, like the oscillating fan cam, or the crashing kitchen. PA4 only benefits from it's amiable young stars, who are genuinely likeable and believable. Other than that, the franchise was ran out of …
