Not quite as dreadful as it sounds and at least it's self aware and tongue-in-cheek. Nowhere near as bad as the Streetfighter movie, but that ain't saying much... |

Mindless action, techo music and yet another example of a video game movie that just doesn't work. It's fun in a cheesy action kind of way, but considering the source material, it's about as much as could be hoped for. |

Mortal Kombat was an Oscar award winner compared to Street Fighter: The Movie. At least it stayed closer to the video game & how can you not like the soundtrack?! I had the theme song stuck in my head for days & after watching it, I just wanted to go out & play the game |

Looking back, this movie was cheap and cheesy in almost every aspect. Some would argue that it has a certain camp quality to it, but that only stretched so far and I got bored about halfway through the movie. |

Alright, in 1995, I was little more than 8 years old, which may explain why this movie was such a kick for me, and continues to be now. Surely not one of the top movies of all time, but certainly a great homage to one of the most violent video games that I was allowed to play, therefore, this movie makes my 1995 all the better. What was so intriguing about this movie was how cool it was, my parents enjoyed it, I enjoyed it, and so there was never any worry. Awesome effects (at least for 1995) and a great story arc to shape around a game where all you do is magic tricks to make people explode or fall onto a field of spikes (which is the only Fatality anyone could do at 7 or 8 years old). |

Best video game movie |
|
The best video game movie ever made. Well one based on a game completely because King of Kong is certainly better. Anyways getting such a title does not mean much since almost all other video game movies are terrible. In fact the only one I might give a positive review is street fighter the movie but you would have to check that review to see why. Anyways the reason it is good is because it actually is closer to the game's story than many others. Also do to good casting and fairly good performances. Not to mention its degree of action is done just right. A lot of other video game movie action scenes are done too grimy like to enjoy and others are just bad. In this they are all okay some worst but a few better. Plus the music is fine it looks okay, and the story is okay and is not pretenti... |
