Al Gore travels in support of his efforts to educate the public about the severity of the climate crisis. He shows the realization and need for creating such a documentary. The greenhouse effect, effects of global warming and climate changes were discussed with the various crowds he presented to. He utilizes concrete facts and recurrences such as Hurricane Katrina, coral reef depletion, glacial earthquake activity on the Greenland ice sheet, wildfires, and trapped methane gas release associated with permafrost melting. An Inconvenient Truth is an insightful look at how people tend to disregard our planet's resources while nature is being destroyed by uneducated people. |

The statistics are disturbing, but the presentation of this documentary is just not compelling when it's turned into the Al Gore Canonization Cause. Every time he said "moral issue" I could taste a little puke in my mouth. |

An Inconvenient Truth is a documentary built around Al Gore's turn on the lecture circuit concentrating on the causes and consequences of Global Warming. Because of this, it can feel a little like "The Al Gore Show" and it probably would've helped its credibility if he had included interviews with the actual scientists responsible for the data and its interpretation, but Gore's broad stroke approach makes for an interesting presentation that never gets too technical and as such is always easy to understand for the lay man. Of course anyone who does not wish to agree with the conclusions will decry it as propaganda but anyone who dismisses the obvious scientific consensus clearly either has an agenda of their own (namely the already obscenely wealthy afraid it will threaten their profit m... |

This is an opinion piece disguised as a documentary. This film could also be entitled 'The world according to Al Gore'. Some people are easily swayed by "authority figures" such as Al Gore lecturing on matters such as the impending doom of man made Global Warming. In spite of the fact that Global Warming is supposed to be a scientific theory, most of its defenders say that you have to "believe" in it. There are lots of flaws in this film and I could not in all honesty spend my time trying to tell people that they need to go see this because Al Gore knows what he is talking about.
Unfortunately Gore took an angle on this film that has dragged it the wrong way. He wants everyone to believe that the reason for global warming is because America is filled with wasteful people and that we sho... |
