For an action movie, Will Smith does a pretty good acting job, especially for being by himself for most of the film. It's nothing revolutionary, but pretty good. |

Legend Worthy |

I Am Legend was one of the best movies I've watched in a long time.
The story was wonderfully done, and the pacing of the movie was excellent. For a zombie movie, I Am Legend is one of the best that I've seen. The way that Will Smith interacted with everything around him, especially for his thinking, was wonderfully done. I loved the way that he progressed through the movie. Nearing the end, I felt emotionally attached to his character.
Placed during a zombie outbreak, the way the few characters interacted and responded to each other made the movie worth while. More than half of the movie was Will Smith with his dog, but that was some of the best drama I'd seen in a move to date. Everything worked together really well and made I Am Legend wonderful to watch again and again.

I liked this movie more than most people.. |

Before I went to see "I Am Legend", I had heard from a lot of people that it was a typical zombie movie...wrong. I could not agree more with the review featured on the main page. The movie portrays an incredibly realistic situation that could definitely happen in today's world. The thing I look for in a movie is not how much it scare you literally, but how it frightens you mentally. The images of New York City, and the abandoned skyscrapers covered in sheets to contain the virus shows the failure to stop the virus. Even when Smith is looking through other peoples homes, you can see flyers from the gov that say "BEWARE: Dogs come out at night, and are dangerous, yadda yadda" The whole movie is crazy real, and actually kinda frightening, some parts you won't see coming. I once had a dream ... |

If they've only spent more money on plot development rather than marketing and promotion, it would probably do better. Nice attempt and intriguing start. It could really have gone to a more climactic and fulfilling end, but did not quite make it. Great art work. Good actor. What went wrong? |
