After a car accident, Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) wakes up in a hospital with a little knowledge of how he came there and who is he exactly. "Unknown" is a drama-thriller movie of searching oneself's identity.
This film has a clear, smooth and smart twist. The cast, for me, performed just right. However, I was looking for more action, that without a break of momentum and a lot of tensions. Overall, a good watch. |

The No Signal cellphone message (to cover up lazy plotting) is taken to extremes here - 'here' being the center of Berlin. That's at the outset so at least you get prepared for the nonsense that follows. Liam Neeson reprises his 'man-on-a-mission' schtick and January ('Betty Draper') Jones looks as lovely present day as she does on Madison Avenue. Despite their efforts, one hopes this ugly looking film lives up to its title. |

It's not Taken but very close! |

Unknown" begins with Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) and his much younger wife, Elizabeth (January Jones) landing in Berlin for a conference where Martin is scheduled to give a speech. They are about to check into their hotel when Martin realizes that he forgot his briefcase. He jumps into a cab without telling his wife. On the way back to the airport to retrieve his misplaced briefcase, his taxi crashes into the river and he is saved by the driver, Gina (Diane Kruger). He awakens from a 4 day coma and wonders why his wife is not there. He finds her at the hotel, but she says she doesn't know him and Martin has been replaced by another man (played by Aidan Quinn). Martin has no way to prove who he is while the imposter has all the correct paper work to prove that he is the real Dr. Harris... |

Unknown review |

Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) and wife Liz (January Jones) arrive in Berlin for a biotechnology summit. Martin realizes his briefcase was left at the airport after arriving from the hotel. A taxi he took to retrieve the briefcase crashes from a bridge. He is saved from drowning by the taxi driver named Gina. Martin discovers his wife with another man claiming to be her husband. To his amazement, Liz doesn’t recognize Martin. Dr. Harris searches for Prof. Leo Bressler (Sebastian Koch), whose identity will be revealed towards the latter portion of the film. It had a few unbelievable scenes, a Doctor that can fight and several coincidental situations involved just for a stolen briefcase. Best parts are the beginning and near ending. Nevertheless, the portrayal of Liam Neeson and si... |

"Unknown" by Yojimbo |
|
A scientist visiting Berlin is involved in a road accident leaving him in a coma, but when he awakes he finds that another man has taken his place and even his wife seems not to know him. Those expecting Taken 2 will be rather disappointed by Unknown, as instead of the indestructible hard ass Neeson of that film he's the hapless victim of a seemingly elaborate conspiracy to rob him of his identity, although he's as believable in this role as he was as the O'Terminator before it. The plot is a little Xbox, but it's done with efficiency and is essentially the Bourne Identity if Jase didn't have super powers. It reminded me of the old Polanski pot boiler Frantic with a Schwarzenegger twist, and it involves all the usual ingredients of this kind of thing down to the obligatory rave scene. It'... |
