"A comedy about a vacation in paradise they'll never forget!"
Finally, a great romance with a subtle touch of comedy but without those typical long talks at the moonlight in a hot tropical scenario that keeps you interested during the whole movie.
Better than a crazy movie about a messed up couple, only a crazy movie about four messed up couples. Each couple has different problems but they'll all have to work on that in the same place.
"It may be paradise... but it's no vacation."
This romance is very interesting about marriage, it's worth watching and you wanna watch it again because it very entertaining definitely won a spot on my top romances! |

While this is a solid romantic comedy film, there is nothing here that makes it stand out above other films of its ilk. I mean everyone works well enough together, but they all feel like they're going through the motions. A decent if forgettable film. |

Not that bad! |

Couples retreat is about a couple who cannot have children and their marriage is falling apart because of it. They decide to go to an island with their friends to try and patch up their marriage while the others want to take advantage of a money-saving deal. They are expecting scuba diving, jet skiing etc. and are disconcerted to find that they, too, are expected to participate in the marriage skills enhancement regime which, of course, soon point up weaknesses in all their relationships.
Once they get there, they discover the island is indeed beautiful. But, wait. The resort is divided into two parts, the "east side", where singles dance and party, and the "west side" where couples must follow a planned day schedule set up by Monsieur Marcel (Jean Reno), a sort of new age guru and the... |

Not As Good As The Previews |
|
‘Ah-ha!’ I thought, finally a decent date movie for my better half and myself. Having done a Caribbean cruise ourselves earlier this year, I figured we would not only enjoy the promised laughs (previews have a way of setting our expectations, don’t they?), but the beautiful island scenery as well. ‘Couples Retreat’ is a humorous take on the practice of marriage encounter sessions set in a beautiful island paradise. Cynthia (Kristen Bell) and Jason (Jason Bateman) play a married couple that have failed at procreation and feel their marriage is falling apart because of it. They learn of a group encounter session being offered at the aforementioned tropical island. To take advantage of the special rate, they have to cajole three other couples (including Vince Vaughn) into signing on for the ... |
