The man of steel? More like the man of tin. Wooden acting, a pretty lame plot and ludicrous additions (Super offspring?) make this a miss in my book. The special effects are the only star of this film. |

Coming from the director of the X-Men series and what he did with that, I though this was going to be a knockout. Superman is my favorite super hero. He has every implications of being perfect. The plot and story were terrible. Too bad. |

Superman R.I.P. |
|
Not entertaining. How can the man behind one of the best superhero movie franchises (X-Men) bring us this lame, dissapointing summer movie? Nothing redeeming here, except the visual effects. This is a dissapointment that I compare to Ang Lee's Hulk. I guess summer movie makers can't always learn from each others mistakes. Who will ressurrect the Superman series now? |

Superman returns poorly |
|
A film that is filled with problems but still is not nearly as bad as some superhero slop like Fantastic four for example. The problems are clear and confusing since they are so obvious you think someone would have said something. One problem is it is blatantly too long. It goes on after the climax, even though it should have already ended. The biggest problem the one I do not see how any one saw was the problems of the character of superman. The actor does a fairly okay job. He is not Christopher Reeve who hit the right notes as Superman, The real Clark, and the fake bumbling Clark. As the real Clark he is okay nothing special, fake Clark is his best properly bumbling not quite as right on as Reeve though and as Superman he plays too seriously acting as if he is unaware of his super powe... |

Christopher Reeve would be proud |

A comic book adaptation that gets just about everything right: a love story with some complications, an adventure story with just enough action to maintain interest for 140 minutes, and a human interest thriller involving the latest plight from evil genius Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey); what it needed was a back story that covers the Man of Steel's absence, and maybe explain why he was gone so long. Overall, it's a thrilling, funny and thoughtful presentation that will hopefully open the door for more adventures. Final Grade: B |
