This is a really well done teen action/adventure. The story is cute but still entertaining. The casting was great and is probably why the movie worked as well as it did. The special effects were good too. |

I caught this on the Disney channel one day and it was a cute movie. You could see every twist and turn coming but the story was cute. The real high light of this movie was Kurt Russell. If you haven't seen this you aren't missing much but if you are bored some day it is fun to watch on TV. |

Witty, entertaining action comedy for the film has enough energy and spirit for three movies despite lackluster villains. Final Grade: B |

This is pretty much a live-action ripoff of the Incredibles. However, the reason this is fun is the supporting characters (Lynda Carter, Bruce Campbell the Kids in the Hall Vets. Dave Foley & Kevin McDonald). Pure fluff, but it's fun fluff. |

"Sky High" by Yojimbo |
|
The son of two legendary superhero parents goes through the growing pains of high school life in a special school for the super powered. Sky High is a kids' film, and as a kids' film I was never going to be the intended audience but there is enough here to amuse the older generation to stop it from being a complete waste of time. It still has the usual issues of Disneyfied characters going the through the utterly formulaic motions of learning the "true meaning of friendship" and "believing in oneself" and as such you know from the very start exactly how it's going to play out. For me the fun is in the peripheral characters, namely Mr. Boy, the teacher of "sidekick class" and the amusing social heirarchy attached to it and Coach Boomer, the bully boy gym teacher played by Bruce Campbell. I... |

A "super" cute movie |
|
"Will Stronghold" (Michael Angarano) is your typical teenager with the same problems all teens entering high school have -- except one. His parents are the greatest superheroes on the planet, "The Commander" (Kurt Russel) and "Jetstream" (Kelly Preston).
"Will" also has a unique problem that kids without super-powered parents doesn't have to deal with. It doesn't seem that he has any powers.
This is not really a movie about superheroes. It is, in fact, a new twist on the new kid in high school theme. It has every plot twist other high school movies have -- from getting on the wrong side of the school's resident bully, to realizing your best friend is the one you are destined to be with and the ever-popular party when the parents are away.
On the other hand, it is an adorable t... |
