A gas/energy/bandwidth company worth billions to build and the decline of profits due to mismanagement. The rating system was strict, people let go if standards were not met. Its executives use the company’s money for strip clubs and gambling. Cheating the stock market, power manipulation, image being restored, and other industry secrets divulged. A very thorough look at Enron’s rise and fall utilizing facts, actual videos, an “experimental video” likened to the CEO’s actions, voice tapes and parody. Compelling from start to end. Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room views how people can lose morality, values and human behavior.

The direction isn't that great (especially a gratuitous, unneccessary stripper scene) but the story of absolute power corrupting absolutely is fascinating. Unbelievable how so many were complicit in this evil, and never bothered to ask why when they were given orders.

Though a bit technical at times. Sometimes you feel as if you have to be an economics major to understand it. It's quite entertaining, and very relevant even today. A few years after the Enron scandal.
