Elizabeth "Lizzie" Wurtzel (Christina Ricci) was accepted to Harvard for a journalism scholarship. Mrs. Wurtzel (Jessica Lange) ensured that her daughter's future would be bright. An amiable roommate of Lizzie named Ruby (Michelle Williams) become close friends. Rafe (Jason Biggs) leaves his number to Lizzie and eventually become partners. Screenplay was excellent with lines such as "Look, we all have bad days." from Ruby and "All I see is the dark side of everything." from Lizzie. Cristine Ricci was mesmerizing while Jessica Lange endearing. Definitely the the mother-daughter relationship onscreen really carried the film, top notch authentic acting was in full display.
