A Bad Day for the Franchise

A Good Day to Die Hard, the latest in the multi-million dollar series, is a deceptive film. It’s opening five or so minutes, which see multiple plot threads being set up with Nolanesque aplomb, seduce you into letting your guard down… which is when the film’s putrid awfulness strikes.

But what is this awfulness? Well, it’s not the meagre script, nor is it Bruce Willis’ disinterested performance, nor is it the absence of any remotely interesting or intimidating villains, nor is it the fact t...

Day Of The Panther

It took me 2 days to watch this movie.I started watching it yesterday & got to where I just couldn't stand to watch it anymore.I planned on finishing it later but never got back around to it so I started watching it again today. When I have to stop a movie & watch it again after awhile I restart it from the beginning. With Day Of The Panther I couldn't do it to myself all over again so I skipped ahead to where I left off & finished it from there.Other than the fight scenes, Day Of The...

The Mummy - A Bad Start to the Dark Universe?

The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, the same guy that wrote the script for the Amazing Spiderman 2. The funny thing is, both of these movies were made to create their own universe. We all know how the spidey universe turned out and to be honest, this isn't much better.
Tom Cruise plays an ex soldier named Nick Mortan.
Tom cruise is an awesome actor and sells every role. He does his own stunts and is very likeable in his movies.
I liked his character but he's kind of a dick. He's just ou...

I'd put this one somewhere on par with the first two. It takes a more serious tone but still has some light hearted bits. Javier Bardem shines And Geoffrey Rush brings his best again. Time to reinvest in the franchise after two very bad sequel.s

Quiet, Good Movie; Cinematography Great

Manchester by the Sea was a good, but not great, movie. It's a solemn movie that follows a man through life, as he plods along in self-punishment, being rude, mean, anti-social, and depressed, as he self-medicates with booze along the way. All this as self-punishment for the unintentional part he played in some family deaths previously. Casey Affleck's performance was good, but there wasn't a whole lot in the character to work with, since he barely responds to the other characters, except for...

A career detective receives a case after his specialty, dental forensics, comes into play. That case spirals into a set of gruesome murders that showcases the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in a bloody, horrifying mess that sends the detective down an emotional spiral. The set up to the film, though fast-paced, is actually really good. The characters were great, the actors did a fantastic job, and the score and setting complemented that well. About halfway through the film, though, the final t...

It is the mark of a great movie when it can make you feel as many and as wide a range of emotions that this movie did. I cried because of sadness and happinesses and I felt both luck and selfish during the tow hours of this movie. I highly recommend it.
