"Popularity is the slutty little cousin of prestige." The quote almost symbolizes the whole film. One of the best opening lines on film - "How did we end up here? This place is horrible. Smells like balls. We don't belong here." A unique picture that delves into your psyche and vision. The camera direction was just exceptional which is very likened to Fight Club the way it maneuvered thru various floors until it gets close to the artists. As always Naomi Watts was electrifying and Emma Stone was solid. The highlights were the enigmatic and underrated performance of Michael Keaton as Riggan, Edward Norton also brings in his "A" game as the fame seeking, horny, jealous and unconfident Mike. He was such a likeable character that the film should have given him a nice conclusion instead of just fading away after they did it with Sam.

Score was unique with the jazz drumming and the writing just provocative. With spectacular lines from Sam - "You're the one who doesn't exist. You're doing this because you're scared to death, like the rest of us, that you don't matter," Sylvia - "You confuse love for admiration." and "Truth is always more interesting." from Mike. The lines make you laugh and think as well so great mix coupled with amazing acting and camera direction. This was a surprising treat which should have focused on the other characters. It also pokes fun at Hollywood stars, jealousy, famine, acceptance, identity and love.
