The Bling Ring review

It starts of with a sick kid named Marc Hall (Broussard) who seems to be a loner in a new school. He was able to stand up for Rebecca Ahn (Chang) which eventually led to their friendship. They form a group that ransacks homes of celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, and Orlando Bloom to get some items. The soundtrack was applicable for their generation, pacing was right and acting sincere. This could have been in the level of Social Network but somewhat dwindles towards the mysterious conclusion that didn't delve on the lives of the culprits. There was no clarity as to the effects of the kids actions and what their fate was after being caught. It lacks that certain entertainment value compared to a true to life flick like Social Network. Moreover, it was baffling how "easy" it was to break in celebrity homes. Still, The Bling Ring was well directed and had themes of social acceptance/identity, parenting, friendships, illegal business and justice.
