The Divide

The Divide review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 04/30/12

Eva and her boyfriend Sam, Josh and his brother Adrien, Josh's friend Bobby, Marilyn and her daughter Wendi, and Devlin survive a nuclear explosion. Mickey informs the group about the circumstances outside and its detrimental effects once the door is opened. Poor character development, ineffective and unclear plot hampered the stylish direction and sincere performances. Themes of morality, human decency, testing people's personality in dire situations, selfishness, and personal urges were evident, but the explanations of the nuclear explosions, Wendi's fate as well as the others in the lab and Eva's journey outside the horrific city devastated by the explosions. Score, acting and direction were not enough to make The Divide a descent watch since the unending violence, torture and hate were too negative without leading towards a descent conclusion or even a glimmer of hope.
